School Board Petitioned to Hold Town Meeting

On October 7th a petition was received in regards to the following article:

Article I: "Shall the voters of the Danville School District authorize and direct the school board to close the existing high school by ceasing to operate grades 9 through 12 at the Danville School as of June 30, 2026, and thereafter provide for the education of students in those grades by paying tuition to a public or approved independent school as authorized by 16 V.S.A. §822?"

  • October 7, 2025 – Received Petition for Town Meeting Vote – Meeting Recording
  • October 22, 2025 – Informational Meeting 6pm at Danville School
  • November 4, 2025 – Informational Meeting 6pm at Danville School  * Finalize Warned Article
  • December 3, 2025 – Informational Meeting 6pm at Danville School
  • December 6, 2025 – Danville School District Town Meeting 3pm at Danville School Gym  * In Person Vote

Impact:

  • If you vote YES – Danville High School (Grades 9-12) will close and cease operations on June 30, 2026
  • If you vote NO – Danville High School (Grades 9-12) will remain open and continue operating as it does now.
