December 5, 2025
As we head into December, we want to thank our families for your continued support and partnership. This season brings lots of learning, fun activities, and chances for our students to show kindness and gratitude.

Please keep an eye on school communications for any weather-related updates. School cancellations and delays will be announced via ParentSquare alerts and phone calls. The local news stations (WCAX) and radio stations (97.7 & 105.5) also announce our school closing and delays.

Thank you for helping your child come to school ready to learn each day. Wishing you a joyful and restful start to the holiday season!

12/8/25- 2 Hour Delayed Opening

Danville Families,
On December 6th, as many of you know, there will be a vote to determine if Danville should cease operation of grades 9 - 12 as of June 2026. Regardless of how the vote turns out, Principals Natalie Conway & Sarah Welch, along with Superintendent Matt Foster, feel it appropriate and necessary to have a full Prek-12 staff meeting prior to welcoming students back into the building.
As a result, we will have a 2 hour delay start for students on Monday, December 8th. School will start at 10:15. Busses will run, picking up students 2 hours later than their normal time.

Morning Drop off Reminder

A reminder as we enter the winter season, that our doors do not open until 7:30 for students to be dropped off. Please do not drop students off until 7:30 as we do not have staff in the building to supervise students.
If students are dropped off before 7:30, they will have to sit outside the doors until 7:30 and staff arrive.

Grade 6 & MS/HS Winter Concert

Mark your calendars!
The Grade 6 beginner band and the MS & HS band and chorus are hosting their annual Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 16th!
Grade 6 band begins at 6:00 PM, with the MS & HS concert immediately following!
We hope to see you there!

The orders from the Winter Wonderland Fundraiser have arrived! Orders can be picked up from the office from 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM.
Please make sure all orders are picked up before our Holiday Break.

School Trips & Events

Sweetheart & Heros Visit Danville

Sponsored by Littleton Chevrolet (a huge thank you to them!), Tom Murphy and Rick Yarosh, from Sweetheart & Heros, visited Danville on November 10th. This powerful duo brought entertainment and resources to our school community on bullying and harassment and the dangerous consequences of bullying.

Middle & High School OVX Leadership Conference

High School and Middle School OVX members spent a day in Burlington at a leadership conference. Students listened to two presentations and enjoyed a Kahoot game. They also learned how to play Rock, Paper, Scissors, Split. Biggest highlights were making videos about what students can do instead of vaping or smoking and going to Crumbl Cookie!

Veteran's Day Assembly

On November 11th, the whole school gathered in the gymnasium to honor all on staff veterans and invited in a local veteran, Terry Hoffer, in to speak on his experience in the Navy.

5th & 6th Grade Math Competition

November 24th marked an exciting milestone for our Math Olympiads Club as students completed the first of five competitions for the year.
Math Olympiads is an international problem-solving program designed to challenge and inspire young mathematicians. Throughout the season, students are introduced to creative, non-routine math problems that encourage deeper thinking, perseverance, and teamwork.
Our dedicated 5th and 6th grade participants are competing against students from around the globe, all working through the same set of rigorous problems. Each monthly contest pushes them to apply logic, strategy, and mathematical reasoning at a high level.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, focus, and enthusiasm as they begin this year’s journey. This first competition is just the start, and we look forward to watching their problem-solving skills grow with each competition and practice they attend after school.

Household Income

Dear Families and Caregivers,

Danville School benefits substantially from Federal Titles Grant Money, and we need your help. Please complete and return the Household Income Form, which can be found here.

Here are some examples of how this money benefits students in our schools:
  • Books and learning materials for students
  • Activities, field trips, and special programming for students
  • Equipment, from snowshoes to technology, for students
  • Showcases and celebrations of learning for families and students
  • Hiring interventionists and teachers to support the academic growth of our students
  • Professional development and materials for teachers and staff

Even though all VT students receive free meals, the distribution of this money is determined by data collected through the Household Income Forms families complete. The money we receive under the Title Grant programs supplement the schools’ existing programs without adding to the local tax rate. Our continued eligibility for Title Grant money depends yearly on families completing the Household Income Form. We depend on these grant monies. Every student benefits from our federal grants, and our school budgets would look very different without federal grants.

Thank you in advance for continuing to fill out this form to help support our students. Please contact your school office if you have questions or need help completing the form.

Please feel free to ask any questions about the Title federal program at CCSU.
