Danville School

May 22, 2026
It’s hard to believe how quickly the school year has passed us by. Classrooms are buzzing with end-of-year projects and celebrations of learning. We are incredibly proud of the growth we’ve seen in our students over the course of this school year. Their hard work, curiosity, and resilience continue to inspire us every day.

As we head into the final few weeks of this school year, we look forward to upcoming events, field trips, and celebrations that bring our school community together. Please keep an eye out for important end of the year announcements from us and your student's classroom teacher.

Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and trust.

With gratitude,
Sarah Welch & Natalie Conway
Co-Principals

Celebrations!

State Geo Bee Runner Up!

In a hard-fought competition on May 6th, our Geo Bee team earned a tie for 2nd place at the State Competition! These four boys made Danville incredibly proud with their academic knowledge and sportsmanship throughout the event. They supported one another and cheered on their fellow competitors throughout the event.

We are incredibly proud of Graham, Wyatt, Ethan, and Adrick! A special thank you to their coaches, Mr. Benoit and Mr. Judkins, for making this opportunity possible. Go Bears!

Music

Elementary Spring Concert - May 28th

Save the date! Our Elementary Spring Concert is scheduled for May 28th at 6:00 PM in our gymnasium. We hope to see you there.

There will be performances by students in PreK through 4th grade and a performance by the 5th grade beginner band.

Grades 6-12 Spring Concert

The Grades 6-12 Spring Concert was a wonderful and memorable event. The chorus and bands performed, one of our middle schoolers was a guest conductor, and the evening concluded with a special surprise performance, facilitated and directed by Mr. Colosa. Our students performed a song for Ms. Wiggett as a thank you gift for her service to Danville School. Everyone did a wonderful job and Ms. Wiggett put on a truly lovely musical event. The community also had the chance to welcome our new music teacher, Abel Alaniz, to Danville School, as they were in attendance. We are sad to say goodbye to Ms. Wiggett and also happy to welcome Abel Alaniz!

Schoolwide Art Festival

Arts Festival Mural

We hosted two Artists in Residence: Heather Stearns of Muddy Creek Pottery and Mary Tapogna of Hail Mary Mosaics. Heather worked with our elementary students to create beautiful handmade bowls and mugs and Mary lead the middle and high school in the process of making a gorgeous ceramic and glass mosaic.

The visual art department- Lily Dunbar and Abby Bartell are incredibly grateful for the generous donations from the community, the support of the Mission and Vision Fund, and to Heather and Mary for their artistic expertise.

Please stop by and see the beautiful mosaic mural located just outside the main doors of the school. Elementary parents- look for handmade bowls and mugs coming home at the end of the year!

Mental Health Month

Norah Beads - Susan Jones Community Night

On May 20th, our UMATTER Club had the pleasure of hosting Susan Jones from Norah Beads. Along with raising money for the Norah Jones Scholarship, we had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about mental health, the importance of supporting one another, and mental health resources within our community. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and contributed to such an impactful evening.
